Nintendo removes mentions of ultra-high resolution on site

Nintendo has cleaned its website of any mention that New Super Mario Bros. U will be running in 1080p.

The site yesterday claimed gamers would “experience Mario like never before… in full 1080p HD”.

This has now been changed to read “in high definition”.

Nintendo had only previously demoed the game in 720p despite the Wii U being capable of running games as 1080p.

2D platformer Toki Tori will be available at launch and is capable of running at 1080p.

Nintendo has thus far made no comment.
