We’ve seen a lot of projects come to KickStarter and find great success, so why not add another one to the mix?
This time, it’s the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works that seeks funds. This “documentary art book” chronicles the creation and history of Sega’s popular 16-bit console, from its fruition to its thriving in the 90’s video game market, even against the likes of Nintendo’s consoles and next-gen threats like the 3DO. A number of titles are featured in the book, including Gunstar Heroes, Vectorman and, of course, Sonic the Hedgehog.
Read-Only Memory, the authors behind Sensible Software’s biographical art book that came out earlier this year, is behind the KickStarter, and the team wants to raise 30,000 pounds to fund its publishing costs. So far, it’s halfway there, with over 15,000 pounds raised.
As with any KickStarter project, donors can get their hands on some solid goods through the fundraising program, including a copy of the book and collectible posters.
