New Resident Evil 3 Trailer Confirms Jill Valentine As a Playable Character In Resistance

Jill Valentine is back and better than ever, but she's not just crashing Resident Evil 3!

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is almost here, again, and this time better than ever with the full rework that Resident Evil 2 previously saw. The latest Resident Evil 3 trailer released by Capcom is all about Jill Valentine and if that wasn’t exciting enough, the company also confirmed that she will be a playable character in Resident Evil: Project Resistance.

The latest trailer, seen above, details how she will impact the online world of Resident Evil: Project Resistance. The other characters included in Project Resistance are all completely new to the franchise, marking Jill as the first confirmed series name to become an option for players.

With our first look at how she interacts with these newbies, Capcom did mention she would be a playable character in future updates, meaning she won’t be available at launch. But, if she’s being added post-launch, that means other characters could be as well, and we’re all crossing our fingers for some Leon Kennedy goodness.

“In Resident Evil 3, S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine, one of video games’ most iconic heroines, flees a city being consumed by zombies and other horrifying creatures. Built with Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 3 uses modernized gameplay to combine action with classic survival horror in vivid high-definition. Jill’s harrowing experiences in Resident Evil 3 take place in the nightmarish hours leading up to and following the events in Resident Evil 2, shedding new light on the plight of Raccoon City’s residents. Every hope of escape is cut off by another star in the Resident Evil franchise: the towering Bio Organic Weapon Nemesis. This brutal yet intelligent monstrosity uses an arsenal of high-powered weaponry to indiscriminately eliminate any surviving S.T.A.R.S. members in the city – with Jill being his final target.”
