Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb has announced on his blog that a new Xbox Live system update is live across the board for Xbox 360 systems today, and it’ll prompt you to download the update when you log in for the first time today.
While the update doesn’t have any sort of amazing features highlighted, it does bring some important fixes to some items. For instance, the issues regarding playlists when using Xbox Smartglass will now be fixed, and you’ll also be able to view Xbox Video closed-captioning without any problems. The update will also improve small things on the Xbox Music front, though it wasn’t specified just what exactly was being fixed.
The update is rather small, but some users are indicating that it’s taking a while to download, probably due to system traffic. Your best bet is to wait until a little later today to turn it on and get it downloaded.
Just as long as it doesn’t get in the way of our Black Ops II muiltiplayer sessions tonight. Priorities, people…
