Last night’s episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon was a repeat, though, for the record, it did feature Christopher Walken, who’s awesome even when he sleeps.  But the real reason everyone tuned in?  They got a chance to check out the Halo 4 launch trailer, an amazing 2-minute clip that told a little backstory on the main hero, Master Chief, as well as the new enemies that he was up against – and man, are they a piece of work.

The trailer, produced by long-time Hollywood director David Fincher (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and directed by visual effects veteran Tim Miller (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) featured an amazing sense of dread, while, at the same time, capturing some vivid visual effects, especially on the Chief’s new foes.  And how about that – the Chief is human after all.

You can catch the trailer in its entirety below, and be prepared to be amazed.  There’s nothing here that a bubble shield can deflect this time around.

Halo 4 hits stores for Xbox 360 on November 6th.
