Yesterday we reported about a new image being posted to Electronic Arts’ Need For Speed Facebook page, talking about how the company was going to reveal a new chapter in the series during its E3 presentation. EA apparently doesn’t feel like waiting that long…
Today the company unveiled Need For Speed: Rivals, a game that will not only be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year, but also the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 just a few weeks before.
The game is being developed in a conjunction between the newly formed Ghost Studios and Need For Speed: Most Wanted team Criterion Games and features a large open-world where drivers will be able to challenge both single-player records and multiplayer challenges through a new system called AllDrive. With this, players can connect with one another with ease and can even challenge each other from across the map. The game will also feature a cops vs. racers mode, in case you feel like throwing down the law… or breaking it.
We’ll have more information on Need For Speed: Rivals in the weeks, as well as a First Look soon thereafter. Look for the current-gen version on November 19th and the others shortly following.
