The EU order is a little different, with the most downloaded PS5 game in the EU being Kena: Bridge of Spirits. That said, NBA 2K22 was close to the top as the second most downloaded PS5 game in the EU.

NBA 2K22 Was The Most Downloaded Game on PS5 and PS4 in September

If you’re curious as to the games people in the US, Canada, and EU were downloading in September, Sony has answers for you in a new post on the PlayStation Blog. In the post, details about the 20 most downloaded games on PS4, PS5, and PS VR were shared.

Not only does the post provide info on US and Canada downloads, but it also shares EU download stats as well. Starting with PS5, the most downloaded game in the US and Canada was NBA 2K22 followed by Deathloop and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

For the EU, the most downloaded game was Kena: Bridge of Spirits followed by NBA 2K22 and Diablo II: Resurrected.

Over on PS4, things weren’t too different with the most downloaded game on PS4 in the US and Canada being, you guessed it, NBA 2K22. Unlike the PS5 charts, the EU’s PS4 lineup matches a little more closely with NBA 2K22 also being the most downloaded PS4 game in September.

Meanwhile, the US and Canada and EU both had Beat Saber as the most downloaded PS VR game. For free-to-play titles, the US and Canada’s top download was Fortnite while the EU’s top download was eFootball 2022, followed of course by Fortnite.

Looking at the charts in general, it’s interesting to see how the download trends differ between the US and Canada and the EU. It’s also fun to see what games people have been gravitating towards, as this can certainly help if you’re looking for something new to play but aren’t quite sure what you should get.

It looks like if you’re a fan of sports, NBA 2K22 is a solid bet on both PS4 and PS5. Alternatively, if you aren’t a fan of sports, games like Deathloop and Kena: Bridge of Spirits also seem like they’re worth checking out based on September’s download stats.

After looking at the most downloaded games on PS4, PS5, and PS VR in September, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on the games that are leading the pack. Are you surprised to see NBA 2K22 as the most downloaded game on PS4 and PS5 in the US and Canada?
