In a new trailer, which can be seen below, we are welcomed to a brand new game mode called, The City.

This mode seems like a much more expanded version of “The Park” of “The Neighborhood” modes from the previous game.

Here’s some more information on the city from the NBA 2K21 website.

“Here is The City at a quick glance: Imagine a map that is many, many times larger than previous Neighborhoods. A design that resembles a modern metropolis, complete with towering skyscrapers, sprawling plazas, and a city center. Oh, and it houses four distinct boroughs that are controlled by four rival Affiliations. And with that, I’m incredibly proud to announce that Affiliations are BACK!”

We get to see all of these different aspects in the trailer, from created characters riding bikes and dancing all the way to playing rooftop basketball. It’s clear that 2K21 is emphasizing the community interaction portion that has been flourishing throughout the iterations.

The city is loaded with quests to take on with you MyPlayer character. From the boroughs to the Gatorade Training Facility, it seems like your character is in for the long haul.

You can also shop at brands like Puma, Adidas, and even Converse to deck your player out in whatever you like.

Most importantly, 2K21 is bringing back Affiliations, which allows your MyPlayer to represent one of four different factions. Pick an Affiliation, start earning rep, and prove why your team is the best on the streets.
