If you own a 3DS or an iOS supported tablet, chances are you came across an 8-bit style adventure game from Renegade Kid called Mutant Mudds, an engaging platformer with old-school graphics and music that make you feel like you’re playing your NES again – but with level-jumping twists.
And we’ve got more Mutant madness on the way. Along with a previously confirmed version for Wii U, which is a “deluxe” model featuring additional content, Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham has stated that there’s already a sequel in the works.
Through his Twitter account (@joolswatsham), he didn’t give a time frame for the game’s release, stating only “Yes, Mutant Mudds 2 is confirmed.” But considering it was pointed out to a Nintendo-based user, it looks like at the moment it’s directed at the 3DS and Wii U…though that could change. We’d love to see it on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, honestly. The more Mutant Mudds, the merrier, I always say.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the original. It’s the most fun you can have with an NES style game, outside of tracking down one of the old units.
