Monster Hunter Rise Version 2.0 & 3.0 Updates Detailed In Latest Direct

We knew that some new monsters like Apex Rathalos and Chameleos would be added in this title update, but Capcom had even more in store for this update, which launches April 28 midnight UTC, which is 5 pm today for you west coast folks. * pm for us east coasters.

The version 2.0 update brings five new monsters including Elder Dragons Teostra and Kushala Daora. It also allows Apex monsters to appear in normal quests. Previously they were only found in specific rampage quests, which was frustrating.

Magnamalo will begin appearing in rampage quests to turn up the heat.

The biggest announcement from the direct though is that the Hunter Rank cap has finally been lifted. Every hunt you go on will add points towards your rank. Previously it was capped at level 7 and only increased by completing specific quests.

Once your cap is unlocked you’ll be able to forge layered armor sets, giving you access to style whatever gear you think looks best while still retaining the stats of better armor.

Capcom also teased the next Monster Hunter Rise update which is launching at the end of May. It’s going to bring an all-new ending to the game as well as some new monsters.
