Minecraft Sells Over 100 Million Units

Mojang's blocky adventure has reached a new sales plateau for Microsoft.

For years now, Mojang’s Minecraft series has been enjoyed across a number of formats. However, little did we know that it would be such a huge sales juggernaut.

Microsoft, which acquired the franchise a couple of years back in a multi-billion dollar deal, has confirmed that the game has sold over 106 million copies worldwide, as broken down in the sales chart below.

In addition, the company has noted that it’s managed to sell 53,000 copies per day across the course of the year thus far.

Congrats to Mojang on the feat – and the year isn’t over yet, so expect plenty more Minecraft sales to come in the months ahead!
