Minecraft Meets Pokemon GO In New Minecraft Earth AR Game

by Liana Ruppert

Despite being a decade old, Minecraft continues to be an active staple in the gaming community. With the wild success seen in Pokemon GO, the crew behind the creative title decided to take the experience on the go with an awesome new way to dive into this particular blocky world of wonder with Minecraft Earth!

For those that want to sign up early for this mobile experience, there’s a free Earth skin as an added incentive, which can be found here! There is tons to explore in this new experience, whether solo or with friends. According to Microsoft:

  • Minecraft has always been a game about creativity, but Minecraft Earth gives you the chance to express yourself on a whole new scale. Share your masterpieces and delve into others’ creations!
  • Minecraft Earth features many of the mobs you know and love, along with a bunch of new ones. Over time, you’ll get the chance to breed unique variants, and use them to populate your builds.
  • Meet up with like-minded crafters and create masterpieces together. Work on a smaller scale with friends before taking your builds out into the wild at full size. You can even team up with others for mini-adventures!
  • Your real-life neighborhood takes on a whole new dimension thanks to Minecraft Earth. Gather resources, take on challenges, and share your imagination with others. There’s a whole new world to discover!

Like Pokemon GO, Minecraft Earth will be free to play and will be coming to iOS and Android devices this Summer. Battle Minecraft mobs, create an awesome space for you and friends – Minecraft Earth is the best way to celebrate 10 years of creative fun.
