Microsoft really wants you to get into the racing spirit with its upcoming Forza Motorsport 5.
The company recently announced a pair of new racing peripherals for the Xbox One console, which Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb profiles in a new video below. In it, director of strategic alliances Branden Powell talks about the racing peripherals coming to the system.
A customizable F1 wheel is the big highlight, enabling users to reconfigure the steering wheel with different models and work with authentic foot pedals. For those seeking something a little more practical, there’s also a 458 Italia model being introduced by Thrustmaster, a 1:1 mapping of the wheel from the original Italian cars. It also comes with a sequential gear shifter that’s just like the real thing as well. You can see these wheels in action in the video, along with new footage from Forza Motorsport 5.
Pricing and release dates haven’t been given on these peripherals as of yet, but considering their complexity, they’re likely to be at least in the $200 range.
The Xbox One and Forza Motorsport 5 release on November 22nd.
