Microsoft is coming off a pretty impressive showcase from last week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, with Halo 4, Gears of War: Judgment, Dance Central 3 and several other games making an impact with gamers. But it looks like it’ll be the last major show for awhile for the company as it’s exploring different options when it comes to displaying its games.
Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb, the spokesman for the company, recently posted this on his blog page…
“As you saw at E3, we have a solid line-up of games launching this holiday, along with other entertainment experiences. We’ve changed our approach a little, though. This year, Xbox will be focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers, and customers around the world. Which means that as you might have seen on some of the news sites today, we won’t be taking part in Gamescom or Tokyo Games Show this year.”
Microsoft is the latest to drop out of Gamescom, right behind Nintendo and Sega, leaving us wondering just what the future of the Cologne-based show is. For now, at least, Sony’s still in there somewhere…um, right?
Look for more news on what Microsoft’s up to in the months ahead…
