Metal Gear Solid 5: Mission 33 [Subsistence] C2W

Complete the mission without needing to leave your helicopter.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

This guide will help you earn an S Rank for the [Subsistence] C2W mission in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and includes a list of the mandatory and optional objectives available for this mission. An S Rank requires a score of 130,000 points or more, so completing all of the optional objectives is not necessary. However, this mission in particular requires only one of the mandatory objectives to be completed, as doing so will make the other mandatory objective optional.

Walkthrough

This mission should look familiar, since it is a repeat of Mission 4: C2W. However, this time you will have to subsist on your own without the help of Supply Drops, Buddy support, or Fire Support. All of your weapons and items are also gone, so you are expected to use the weapons at the target location.

There are two ways to go about this mission. One of them requires you to have destroyed the enemy anti-air radar during Mission 4. Go back and replay Mission 4 to destroy the anti-air radar located in the same area as the transmitters you were told to eliminate. You can use  some explosives to take out the anti-air radar and complete the mission.

Once you have destroyed the anti-air radar in Mission 4, now you can load Mission 33. When you deploy, simply choose the landing zone inside the base and then move to your helicopter’s side mounted gatling gun. Use the gatling gun to shoot all three antennas in the objective area. You won’t even have to leave the chopper, and because you destroyed that anti-air radar earlier, there is no need to worry about the chopper getting taken down.  After destroying the third antenna, your helicopter departs and the mission concludes.

If you did not destroy the anti-air radar in the previous mission, there is still a way to complete Mission 33 without going back to replay the older mission.

Once the helicopter drops you at the landing zone, begin to follow the road, staying high along the hillside to the left until you reach the outpost. Locate a soldier standing near a turret who has a Killer Bee weapon on his back. Sneak up behind the soldier, and neutralize him with a tactical take down. Extract him with your Fulton Recovery Device if you wish, and then pick up the Killer Bee as well as the other gun he may have dropped.

Keep covered, and quietly take down any other soldier that may be approaching your location. When ready, get to higher ground by moving up a hill on the side of the camp, and use the Killer Bee to begin destroying the three antennas. The antennas are located in the same positions as they were previously, on top of several rooftops.

When you destroy the third and final antenna, quickly sprint away from the outpost in the direction you came from. Keep the gun handy that you acquired from the soldier earlier to take down any enemies you encounter on your way out. Once you have cleared the hot zone, the mission concludes. Finishing the mission in this way should give you enough points from the time bonus alone to earn an S Rank.

Regardless of which option you took to complete this mission, you will have likely earned a very high time bonus and had little trouble achieving an S Rank rating.
