Metal Gear Solid 5: Mission 25 Aim True, Ye Vengeful

Extract the militant XO and commander of the child soldiers to earn an S Rank.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

This guide will help you earn an S Rank for the mission Aim True, Ye Vengeful in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and includes a list of the mandatory and optional objectives available for this mission. An S Rank requires a score of 130,000 points or more, so completing all of the optional objectives is not necessary. It is best to try and secure the time bonus as well as some score multipliers, as these can grant you a significant amount of points toward an S Rank.

Walkthrough

Your goal with this mission is to extract the targets as quickly as possible, as well as achieve No Combat Alerts, since this will grant you the extra points needed to ensure an S Rank score. We will also help you complete one of the optional objectives in the process.

Get on D-Horse and ride south in the direction of the objective waypoint after the helicopter drops you off. As you approach a small village, locate a green tent near a watchtower. The first target, the commander of the child soldiers, will be standing outside the front of the tent. Use your binoculars to mark the commander if you wish to confirm the target. Then, proceed to neutralize the commander using your tranquilizer pistol, also taking down any other soldiers that may be nearby.

While the commander is tranquilized, carry him over to a nearby jeep, leaving him in the back of the vehicle for now. Before you continue, bring up your iDROID to call in your extraction helicopter and save you some time.

Now look around the area to locate a building off to the right with a small gazebo-like structure out front. Keep your tranquilizer pistol handy to take down a couple soldiers standing nearby, and then look for the militant XO tied up on the ground under the roofing.

Pick up the target and carry him on your back over to the jeep where you left the commander, and set down the target in the back of the vehicle. You cannot use the Fulton Recovery Device to extract the jeep, since one of the targets is too badly injured. Instead you must hop in the jeep and drive both targets to the LZ for extraction, completing one of the optional objectives. Try to avoid getting spotted by enemies as you leave the area, in order to achieve the No Combat Alerts bonus.

Drive up to the LZ, making sure not to obstruct the chopper’s landing spot with your vehicle. Get out, and carry each of the targets to the helicopter for extraction. Once you board the chopper yourself, the mission concludes. If your time bonus is just shy of what is needed for S Rank, then your bonuses for No Retries, No Kills, and No Enemy Combat Alerts will help make up for the rest of the points.
