Hi there! Mayor Prima here with another exciting tale of my early days in town. How fondly I remember purchasing my first home from Tom Nook. To my surprise, I was greeted by a mysterious stranger at my doorstep the very next day!
The stranger’s name was Tortimer—a jolly old tortoise who lives on a remote tropical island. He kindly invited me to come visit him, saying I could catch a boat ride to the island by visiting the dock down by the beach. The dock had always been strangely vacant before, but when I strolled on down there, I found a salty old frog named Kapp’n tending a motorboat.
The good Kapp’n barely charged a Bell to ferry me to the island. He even sang me a lovely sea chantey along the way. When at last we arrived, I found the island’s cabana to be a hub of excitement and activity. There was a nifty gift shop, and a friendly female frog named Leilani offered me the chance to go on thrilling tours of nearby islands!
I couldn’t wait to take one of Leilani’s special tours, and sat down in the waiting area right away. The next thing I new, I was shoving off to a nearby island where Tortimer was waiting. The old tortoise told me the rules of the tour at hand: I was to catch lots of crab in the sea, using a wet suit to help me swim!
I wasted no time racing off and diving into the sea—I’d never swam before! However, I soon found that my swimming skills left something to be desired. I had a heck of a time finding many crab, and I even got stung by a jellyfish! No “beginner’s luck” for this humble mayor.
Needless to say, Tortimer was less than impressed with my efforts. I didn’t win any awards or medals, but I still had a blast playing in the fresh air and sunshine. I’ve gone on all sorts of tours since then, and I must admit, I’m getting quite good at them now!
