Marvel’s Avengers War For Wakanda Expansion Launching This August

Marvel’s Avengers launched last year and ever since the team has been pushing new updates and heroes with free post-launch support for the game. Today, the newest expansion for the game titled “War For Wakanda” has finally been given a release date.

The expansion will launch on August 17 for all Marvel’s Avengers players, free of charge. There is also more information about this expansion coming during a War Table Livestream happening the day before on August 16. 

The Square Enix website has some additional details about what players can expect from the War For Wakanda expansion. 

“In addition to adding Black Panther, the War for Wakanda Expansion also brings with it new Villains, a brand-new environment to explore, new enemies, the Royal Palace Outpost, new solo or multiplayer Drop Zone and Threat Sector missions and more, adding the most content to Marvel’s Avengers since the game’s launch.”

The War Table live stream will deep dive into the gameplay, outfits, and more as well as some “special things” planned to go alongside it. While we don’t have a ton of new information about the expansion, it won’t be long before fans of the game can get their hands on it.

For those who haven’t given the game a try yet, PlayStation, PC, and Stadia users can try out the all-access weekend which starts today and runs through August 2.

If you’re already a player of the game you will receive some added bonuses if you play during this weekend. The website outlines these details, which can also be found below.

• 4x XP – Yes, you read that correctly. This weekend, players can earn 4x the amount of earned XP, which does stack with Hero’s Catalysts!
• RESOURCE GRANT – Any player (new or existing, so everyone wins) who logs in during the All-Access Weekend will instantly receive loads of resources through a community grant! Here are the contents: 5,000 Fragments, 1,000 Plasma, 1,000 Nanites, 1,000 Nanotubes, 1,000 Catalyst, 1,000 Units, 600 Upgrade Modules, 500 Uru, and 250 Polychoron.
• 50% MARKETPLACE SALE – The Marketplace will have its biggest sale ever during this event with 50% off the majority of the wares.
