Mario Kart 8 Gets 48 New Courses With The Booster Course Pass

More Mario Kart, sort of.

A lot of rumors of Mario Kart 9 were swirling around the internet before the Nintendo Direct, however, we were all hoodwinked by a new slate of DLC for a five-year-old game.

Mario Kart 8 Gets 48 New Courses With The Booster Course Pass

So, in today’s direct we were introduced to the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass which will feature six waves of DLC maps for the game, with the first set launching on March 18, 2022. Each of these waves will feature eight courses per wave, with all waves shipping before the end of 2023.

The courses are remastered courses of previous games like Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Tour, and even Mario Kart DS.

While it isn’t a new Mario Kart game, 48 courses are nothing to sneeze at. Priced at $24.99 for all six waves it’s not the worst way to go about adding new maps to the game.

The Booster Course Pass will also be included in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass making it the second DLC alongside Animal Crossing: New Horizons to be featured as part of the pass.
