The name Raphael van Lierop may not be the most recognizable in the game industry, but he’s definitely left his mark, working on such titles as Halo 4 and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Just recently, Lierop revealed his latest project through Kickstarter, a first-person post-disaster survival game called The Long Dark.
Set in the Northern wilderness, the game will put you in control of William Mackenzie, a bush pilot who finds himself lost in the dark forest. In order to survive in the wild, Mackenzie will need to develop survival skills, while also dealing with whatever horrors lie in the wilderness.
Lierop set a funding goal of $200,00 for the game, and with 26 days to go, it’s off to a steady start with over $57,000 raised. You can learn more about the Kickstarter here.
