The men and women who protect LEGO City fall into this class as well as hardboiled detectives, security guards, and the famous duo of Doorlock Holmes and Dr. Whatsit. This is the default class to select and is the only one that can use the grapple, which is essential for traversing the massive city.

There are eight classes in LEGO City Undercover: Civilian, Police, Robber, Miner, Astronaut, Farmer, Fireman, and Construction. Below is an excerpt from the official LEGO City Undercover guide detailing the disguises found in the Police class:

Anyone trying to make a difference and keep LEGO City safe falls into the Police category. Not only does this include the boys (and girls!) in blue, but also forest rangers, private detectives, and security guards.

Abilities

• Grapple Gun: Used in specific locations to pull down objects or to quickly ascend to higher areas.
• Detective Scan: Available at blue detective scan spots. Chase uses his communicator to follow footprints and uncover clues.
• Data Scan: Available anytime. Hold up the Wii U GamePad and look around to discover hidden goodies in the vicinity.
• Criminal Scan: Available at yellow criminal scan spots. Hold up the Wii U GamePad and scan the area for crooks.
• Audio Scan: Available at green audio scan spots. Hold up the Wii U GamePad and scan the area for conversations that Chase can eavesdrop on.
