LawBreakers Devs Announce F2P Battle Royale Shooter ‘Radical Heights’

Boss Key Studios has unveiled their next project, Radical Heights.

Boss Key Productions, the developers behind last year’s gravity-defying FPS LawBreakers, has officially revealed their next game, an 80s-themed battle royale shooter called Radical Heights. Along with today’s announcement of Radical Heights came a new gameplay reveal trailer, which you can watch below.

Described as an “X-TREME Early Access Battle Royale shooter,” Radical Heights looks like a cross between Saints Row and PUBG, with a loud retro visual style. Set in Southern California during the 1980s, Radical Heights incorporates game show elements into the standard battle royale formula, adding a twist to the genre.

Like Fortnite Battle Royale, Radical Heights is a free-to-play title, which will allow players to jump straight into the action when it releases on Tuesday, April 10. You read that right. Radical Heights will be available on Steam starting tomorrow, despite having just been revealed today.

“Radical Heights has been built from the ground up with Free to Play in mind, and we plan to keep it that way post Early Access as well,” said Boss Key.

According to the Radical Heights Steam page, the game still has a ways to go before it’s ready for a full launch. “The core gameplay experience is complete. However, players should expect to experience placeholder assets in the world including; models, audio, animation, and even entire buildings,” reads the game’s Steam Early Access description.

Based on the trailer and details on Steam, Radical Heights utilizes a banking system that allows players to spend in-game money on various items throughout a match. Players can pull the money they’ve accumulated from an ATM to buy early weapons in the next match, or spend their hard earned cash on rad customizations.

As both the developer and publisher for the title, Boss Key plans to keep Radical Heights in Early Access for about a year. The developers ensure that the game will remain free-to-play after its full release. So far, it seems that Radical Heights will only be available on PC for now, but we’ll be sure to keep you informed of any details on a potential console release.
