If you didn’t think The Last of Us Part II was going to be gory, you’ve been living under a rock. That being said, Ellie has grown up and according to the recently revealed ESRB rating, looks like she might be coming into her own in more way than one.
According to the official Last of Us Part II website, the ESRB gave the game a M rating (17+), which was to be expected with the level of combat and gore. That being said, in addition to the Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, and Strong Language the ESRB also listed Sexual Content and Nudity as well. This makes this type of content a first for Naughty Dog and you know what? We hope it’s at least a moment of happiness for our dear protagonist because she deserves it.
From what we’ve seen thus far, Ellie dances flirtatiously with another woman during a moment of calm in the game. This relationship could see full fruition, which would then, of course, set up the heartbreak even more and we know that Naughty Dog is absolutely splendid when it comes to tearing out our hearts and making us eat them.
As for the game itself, The Last of Us Part 2 is slated to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on May 29, 2020.
