Let the mystery begin!
Last night, on GameTrailers TV, host Geoff Keighley had a chance to sit down with the man behind Moby Dick Studios, the cryptically face-covered Joakim Mogren, to talk about the forthcoming super-secret Konami project The Phantom Pain. Though Mogren didn’t give anything away (including his personality – who is this guy?!), he did display some new concept art behind it, and showed some playful surprise when Keighley pointed out the FOX Engine technology.
The truth – and likely Mogren himself – will be revealed in a couple of weeks time, as a new trailer for The Phantom Pain – rumored to be the next Metal Gear game – will be unveiled at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. In the meantime, you can watch the full interview here, and while there isn’t much new information, it is rather amusing.
As for who Mogren is, some believe that it’s really departed Epic Games mastermind Cliff Bleszinski…though no proof has yet been given. Still, if it is Cliffy B., he’ll have pulled off the greatest trick since, well, Keyzer Soze. Just not as murderous.
The Phantom Pain has no release date or announced platforms as of yet.
