As part of its huge Gamescom presentation this week, Konami dated a pair of its most anticipated releases, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. The good news is that soccer fans won’t have to wait long to get their kicks in. The not-so-good news? Dracula’s final chapter – for this round, anyway – will wait until next year.
PES 2014 will release on September 19th in the U.S. and a day later in Europe. This will give it a few days of market time ahead of EA Sports’ dominant FIFA 14, which releases later in the month. The game will release first on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though PSP and PlayStation 2 versions – oddly enough – are in the works for release later this year. A demo will release on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network on September 11th.
Meanwhile, MercurySteam’s final chapter in the Castlevania franchise, Lords of Shadow 2, will be available on February 25th in the U.S. and two days later in Europe. That’s later than expected, as the game was originally thought to come out this year. On the bright side, fans can play the recently announced Mirror of Fate HD on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network to pass the time when it releases in late October.
