Tripwire Interactive’s gritty co-op shooter Killing Floor 2 is free to play this weekend on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The promotion is available to players who have an active Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus membership on their respective consoles.
The free-to-play weekend coincides with the latest update for Killing Floor 2, titled The Summer Sideshow: Treacherous Skies. You can catch a glimpse of the gory clown-killing action in the trailer below.
The steampunk-themed update introduces a new prestige system and adds new weapons, maps, and other content to the gory co-op shooter. The Summer Sideshow content will also be available to play during the Killing Floor 2 free-to-play weekend, which ends on Monday, June 25. Players on all platforms can also look forward to a new steampunk soundtrack, new achievements, and more as part of the Summer Sideshow update.
If you’re more of a PC gamer, then you can pick up Killing Floor 2 on Steam for 60% off during the Steam Summer Sale, which went live earlier today and lasts until July 5. During the sale, the base game of Killing Floor 2 costs $11.99, with the Digital Deluxe Edition only costing a few dollars more at $15.99. It’s not quite free, but it beats paying full price.
