The DICE Summit is officially underway in Las Vegas, Nevada, with throngs of developers and other gaming types swarming the Hard Rock Casino. One of the bigger draws at the event thus far was the panel featuring Gabe Newell, main man at Valve, and J.J. Abrams, the director who's just been handed the reigns to Star Wars Episode VII.
There was a lively discussion between the two, talking about storytelling methods in movies and film, and using scenes from each other's work to showcase just how foreshadowing can set up future events. From what we've heard, those who attended were on cloud nine with the overflow of information.
But here's the fun part – these two might actually work together. Said Newell, "We're going to try and figure out if we can make a Half-Life movie or a Portal movie together." Could you imagine?!
Granted, nothing is official, it's all speculation, but the sheer excitement is definitely up there. We'll let you know what becomes of the idea. For now, we're guessing, Abrams is quite busy with his upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness sequel, as well as that little Star Wars indie project...
