Following their departure (and settled lawsuit) from Activision last summer, the skies were looking clear for Vince Zampella and Jason West, the main men behind the Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward, as they formed a new company, Respawn Entertainment, and began working on a new project for Electronic Arts. However, it looks like that team lost a little thunder as of late.
Reports are indicating that West, after founding the company alongside Zampella, has left the company entirely, citing “family issues” as a result.
However, it doesn’t look like West’s departure will have an effect on the project, as various sources are reporting that he hasn’t really been involved at all since the settlement with Activision. The game has been developed without his involvement, and he actually hasn’t been part of the company since last summer, despite helping put it together.
We’ll have more information on Respawn’s debut effort once more information is released on it.
