Batman is arguably the most versatile jack-of-all-trades character available, able to do everything without overly excelling at any one area.
When at a distance, he is all about keeping his opponent on his or her toes with his projectiles, but even when the opponent decides to get into close range, Batman can use attacks up close to retreat and deflect characters who give him a hard time.
His only downside is that he isn’t the best at anything, so against characters who have better projectiles, he has to get up close.
Against characters who are stronger in close, he has to play a distance game. Fortunately, Batman has the tools for every situation.

Super Move
The Dark Knight
Hit Level: Mid
Range: Full Screen
Description: Batman throws a smoke bomb at his opponent’s feet and follows up with a series of brutal hits.
The start up has one hit of armor and is safe when blocked, but tracks the opponent’s position anywhere on the screen.
The Dark Knight is unsafe the closer you are to an opponent that blocks until about a half screen away, at which point it becomes totally safe even when blocked.

Mechanical Bats
Command: Press the Power button
Description: Batman calls down Mechanical Bats that hover around him, assisting his offense or defense to create a variety of strategic uses.
Best Basic Attacks
Straight Kick
Command: Jumping Medium
Hit Level: Overhead
Range: Close
Description: Batman attacks with a downward-angled kick that allows him to chain into other combo attack strings against a grounded opponent. This attack hits overhead, so it must be blocked from the standing block position.
Low Jab
Command: Down + Light
Hit Level: Mid
Description: A low jab attack that is built for gaining advantage in close quarters so Batman can put himself in an advantageous situation as well as make the opponent guard. Gives enough advantage on hit to be canceled into a special. Safe when blocked.
Flying Kick
Command: Back + Hard
Hit Level: Mid
Range: 1/2 Screen
Description: Flying Kick is a long-range attack that will bounce his opponent off of the corner of the screen and back to him, giving Batman a juggle combo opportunity. This attack can be charged by holding the Hard attack button and can be canceled out of with a forward or backward dash while you are charging the attack. Pressing the Meter Burn button during this attack (which burns one bar of meter) will add one hit of armor. Flying Kick is also Batman’s Back, Back + Meter Burn Bounce Cancel (bounce cancel burns two bars of meter). This attack is safe when blocked.
Wheel Kicks
Command: Forward + Hard
Hit Level: Overhead
Range: Sweep
Description: A no-handed cartwheel kick that launches the opponent and gives Batman a juggle combo opportunity, this attack hits overhead, so it must be blocked from the standing block position. This attack can be charged by holding the Hard attack button and canceled out of with a forward or backward dash while you are charging the attack. Like the Flying Kick, pressing the Meter Burn button during this attack will add one hit of armor. Wheel Kicks is also Batman’s Forward, Forward + Meter Burn Bounce Cancel. This attack is safe when blocked.
Flip Kick
Command: Jumping Hard
Hit Level: Overhead
Range: Close
Description: A flipping kick that, if it connects, juggles the opponent. When this attack is blocked, Batman is left at advantage, allowing him to follow up with additional attacks. This attack hits overhead, so it must be blocked from the standing block position.
Caped Crusader
Command: Medium, Medium, Hard
Hit Level: Mid, High, High
Range: Low
Description: A combo attack that leads to a launcher at the end. The second hit of the combo can be ducked and the last hit can be interrupted with a fast normal attack after crouching. All hits are safe when guarded.
