For the longest time, DC Comics characters haven’t really gotten a fair shake when it comes to starring in fighting games, unlike Marvel. Sure, there was that interesting crossover game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, but the Teen rating held it back from receiving the reception that Midway was hoping for at the time. But this’ll change next year when Injustice: Gods Among Us arrives to do some damage.
This fighting game is the latest project from Netherrealm Studios, the team behind the Mortal Kombat franchise, and promises plenty of beat-em-up action with your favorite DC characters. Six have been confirmed thus far, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Solomon Grundy and, fresh from her revenge in Arkham City, Harley Quinn. More characters are expected to be announced in the months ahead.
The game has been confirmed for the Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is set to arrive sometime in 2013. We’ve got the reveal trailer for you below, courtesy of Gamespot. Now let’s see how Batman fares against the big S-Man, shall we…?
