Hitomi and Leifang DOA6 Gameplay Footage

We finally have gameplay footage of Hitomi and Leifang in Dead or Alive 6!
This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

To cap of Team Ninja’s Evo 2018 presentation, Dead or Alive 6 director, Yohei Shimbori teased the reveal of Hitomi and Leifang. More details were promised on August 20, just before Gamescom, and today Team Ninja has fulfilled that promise. The new gameplay video shows off Hitomi, Leifang and a new pirate ship stage that calls back to more traditional Dead or Alive stages. Let’s take a closer look at what the video shows off for Hitomi, Leifang and the new stage.

While we don’t see a lot of new attacks from the pair, we do see Leifang’s Fatal Rush and both characters’ Break Blows. In addition, the blood effects on Fatal Rush are no longer present. This may be Team Ninja addressing the community request for the ability to turn off the blood splatter on the screen during Fatal Rush and Break Blow attacks. Later on in the trailer we still do see the blood splatter when Hitomi performs her Break Blow, so the effect is still there, just not present during Leifang’s Fatal Rush.

The new stage starts on the deck of a burning pirate ship. There’s a kraken stage hazard that will stun players when slammed against a specific wall in the stage. When the kraken is triggered a second time, it grabs the character and slams them through the deck and into the treasure hold below. More stage interactions can be seen in the lower area, including spikes shooting up during a wall hit, and exploding barrels that help to extend combos.
