Halo 4 Multiplayer Improved with HDD

An improved multiplayer experience will cost you about 8 GB on your hard drive.

Halo 4 is looking like something truly remarkable in the series, even though it’s the first chapter that isn’t being handled by Bungie this time around.  Maybe it’s the fresh approach that we’re all looking forward to.  Still, it’s one that’ll be coming at somewhat of a price – and should prompt you to pick up an expansion hard drive if you haven’t already.

Microsoft has announced that Halo 4’s multiplayer, which will consist of various missions between the co-op supported Spartan Ops and the multiplayer War Games, where you fight against other Spartan squads, will require an additional install on your hard drive to run efficiently.  How much space?  About 8 GB worth.  Usually, Microsoft games don’t require an install in order to run on an Xbox 360, but with all the extra data, we’re guessing that Halo 4 simply needed the extra push.

Microsoft also recommended that, to get the best “optimal experience” from the game, the ideal suggestion is to install the whole game to your hard drive, though it didn’t speculate how much space that would take.

We’ll find out for sure when Microsoft launches Halo 4 on November 6.
