GTA 5 ‘Pest Control’ Artwork Unveiled

Oh, the anticipation

Rockstar has just revealed a single piece of GTA 5, and of course, we’re lapping up the hype.

Arguably 2013’s most-anticipated release (even with so much good stuff coming early next year), GTA 5 still hasn’t been dated. We’re hoping a release window might be revealed with what will undoubtedly be a huge splurge of information (especially in comparison to the tidbits we’re being spoon-fed) in the soon-coming Game Informer exclusive.

With every GTA 5 reveal, fans and journos obsessively pour over and (probably over-) analyze every last detail. Is Rockstar really communicating coded information via number plates? Are there messages in the GTA site’s HTML color code choices? Probably not. Of all the posts we’ve seen, Gaming Bolt appears to have the most detailed breakdown of things to think about possibly considering speculating over. Let’s hope they’re right about the tow bar.

The artwork shows two guys, previously seen in last year’s trailer, rifles in hand, stepping out of a van dressed in bug extermination gear. That’s pretty much it from most people’s perspective but it is rather pretty and has that trademark GTA posterized style (if they ever ditched that there’d be furor).

It all looks very Breaking Bad but to be fair to Rockstar the storyline involving bug extermination hadn’t hit till much after the original trailer. Still though, Rockstar might be appealing to BB fans by choosing to highlight this theme and draw up this image. And why not? The crime-ridden capers and dark humor of both the show and game are likely to appeal to a similar crowd.
