Rockstar Games has uploaded a very suspicious teaser trailer for something coming to Grand Theft Auto Online. It seems to be teasing some sort of map expansion, which would be a welcomed addition to the nearly eight-year-old game.

Grand Theft Auto Online is Teasing A New Map Expansion

While many folks are clamoring for a Grand theft Auto 6 or anything for Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode, it seems rockstar still has its eyes on GTA online, which makes sense, it’s a huge source of income and still has a more than healthy player base.

The teaser, which can be seen below, shows off some new environments and a picture of an island, which is where fans are convinced that a map expansion is coming. The trailer doesn’t hint at a release date or even when more information will be coming down the pipeline.

Hopefully, the wait isn’t too long. GTA 5 and its online mode are coming to next-gen consoles in the second half of 2021. When this happens, PlayStation Plus users on the PlayStation 5 will receive GTA Online for free.

This map expansion could come in tandem with that launch to really sweeten the pot for new and old players.

Whatever this update ends up being, we’re confident it will be at the very least on par with all of the other additions to GTA Online like The Diamond Casino, nightclubs, and The Doomsday Heist.

We will have to just wait and see what Rockstar has in store for the future of Grand Theft Auto Online.
