Nintendo is trying to keep wraps on the Wii U as much as possible leading into E3 next week, but that isn’t stopping Gearbox Software from talking up a storm about it.  The developer behind the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines has expressed great satisfaction with the system, according to a recent interview with Eurogamer.

Senior producer Brian Burleson stated that the Wii U is a “powerful, powerful machine”, one capable of a lot of “cool new things.”  He also is confident that the Wii U version of Marines will be better than the others, mainly because of the “more modern tech”, though he stopped short talking about the system’s power.

“(Creating the Wii U version) has been pretty easy,” said Burleson to Eurogamer.  “The Wii U is a powerful, powerful machine and it can do a lot of cool new things.  And so the game itself, moving it over to work on the Wii U was not much of a chore.”

“Now the interesting thing is finding out all the cool ways you can use the controller to do new stuff with it.  You can imagine all the cool things we can do, with this franchise and having a thing with you, right?”

The image above kind of gives you a hint, as you can possibly use your Wii U controller as a motion tracker device to help you find aliens.  But Burleson didn’t really provide those details just yet.

“You can imagine some cool features for sure,” said Burleson.  “It’s hard not to imagine some cool features.”  We’ll just “have to wait and see.  Just trust me on that one.”

And so we shall.  Look for more information soon!
