Even better, you won’t have to wait too much longer to get your hands on it as Frictional Games shared the official release date for Amnesia: Rebirth today along with an eerie new trailer.

Frictional Games Drop Spooky Release Date Trailer for Amnesia: Rebirth

The release date for Amnesia: Rebirth has been unveiled and as you might’ve expected, it’s coming out during the spookiest calendar month, October.

On October 20, Amnesia: Rebirth will be available on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) and PS4.

The game will act as a full sequel to 2010’s Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and will take a slightly different approach when it comes to how it will scare you.

According to Frictional Games’ creative director Thomas Grip, Amnesia: Rebirth won’t be your “run-of-the-mill horror experience” and will place more of an emphasis on narrative.

The goal is to have players connect with the game’s main character, Tasi Trianon. The setting of Amnesia: Rebirth feels fresh as well, taking place in the Algerian desert.

There, Tasi will explore an array of dark caves and creepy tombs armed only with a lantern and a few matches.

On Steam, the game is described as follows:

“In Amnesia: Rebirth, you are Tasi Trianon, waking up deep in the desert of Algeria. Days have passed. Where have you been? What did you do? Where are the others? Retrace your journey, pull together the fragments of your shattered past; it is your only chance to survive the pitiless horror that threatens to devour you.”

The team at Frictional Games have taken what they’ve learned from games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Soma and have dialed things up to eleven in order to scare you creatively, and effectively.

As fans of horror, we can’t wait to immerse ourselves in Amnesia: Rebirth — even though we may end up knocking a bunch of stuff over as we jump back from our desk in fright while playing the game in the pitch black darkness with headphones on.

If you’re as excited as we are, be sure to mark October 20 on your calendar and plan out a platform to buy Amnesia: Rebirth on (PS4 or PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store).
