If you just couldn’t get enough of the terrifying world of The Evil Within 2, you now have an opportunity to get closer to the horror like never before. Players can enjoy playing the entirety of the game in first-person on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC thanks to a free update from developer Tango Gameworks. For a quick glimpse of the intense first-person action, check out the new first-person mode trailer for The Evil Within 2 below.
If you already own The Evil Within 2, all you need to do to access this suspensful new mode is go into your menu and turn first-person mode on. Don’t worry, you aren’t locked into this mode forever. You can switch it back on the fly, playing the game how you see fit.
“I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you’re in third-person,” said Shinsaku Ohara, Producer at Tango Gameworks. “Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs.”
If you don’t have the game and want to try out the first-person experience for yourself, The Evil Within 2 has a free trial of the opening chapters for players to try out. If you choose to purchase the full game, your saved progress from the trial will carry over.
The Evil Within 2 is the sequel to the 2014 hit horror game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. If you plan to revisit the horrors of The Evil Within 2 in first-person, make sure you recall how to craft and upgrade weapons in The Evil Within 2.
