Free Fire’s Attack on Titan Event Will Let You Take on Titans in a Battle Royale

A colossal crossover.

Ever wanted to enlist with Attack on Titan’s Survey Corps? Given the mortality rate for new recruits, we wouldn’t blame you for saying no. Thankfully, there’ll be a far less deadly way to pledge your allegiance soon thanks to an upcoming crossover between the anime and popular mobile battle royale title Free Fire.

Free Fire’s Attack on Titan Event Will Let You Take on Titans in a Battle Royale

The Free Fire x Attack on Titan crossover event promises to open Commander Erwin’s legions up to all players with new costumes, weapon skins, and a brand new game mode inspired by the renowned anime.

Arriving on March 12, Free Fire players will have the chance to fly the Wings of Freedom as they don male and female versions of the Survey Corps costume when diving into the fray.

Harboring a secret soft spot for the series’ oversized, skinless monstrosities? Titan lovers won’t be left out here either. Eren Jaeger’s own Attack Titan will also enter the fight as a new costume, along with the imposing and mysterious Armored Titan.

Swords and 3D maneuver gear might be the traditional weapons of choice in the Attack on Titan universe, but Free Fire’s arena calls for something a touch more advanced. During the event, two new AoT-themed weapon skins will be available. The M1014 Attack on Titan skin is the weapon of choice of marksman with a taste for the macabre, while the P90’s new look lets you tower over the opposition with a design inspired by the mighty Colossal Titan.

Along with new weapons and skins, the game itself will be given a titan-sized lick of new paint thanks to themed reskins of the airplane, airdrop boxes, and more. Rounding out the event, a brand new game mode inspired by the show will debut on March 27, with details to be announced as the event unfolds.

For those new to Free Fire, Garena’s free-to-play battle royale title airdropped onto Android and iOS devices in beta form back in 2017. Since then it’s reached an impressive 100m daily users and had grossed more than a billion dollars by November 2019. The game kicks up the battle royale pace with a focus on rapid, 10-minute long matches. Up to 50 players parachute into the arena at a time, scavenging for loot, weapons, and vehicles as they battle to be the last one standing.

The Attack on Titan crossover event isn’t the first anime-inspired collaboration to hit Free Fire Servers either. The game previously paired up with hit comedy One Punch Man to introduce costumes and missions inspired by Saitama and co.

The Free Fire x Attack on Titan event is now live in all regions. Free Fire is available on the Google Play and Apple iOS stores.
