Epic Games has been struck by Cupid’s arrow just in time for Valentine’s Day. According to an official blog post from Epic, Fortnite fans can look forward to a new Cupid-inspired weapon and some lovely cosmetic items in the next update. Fortnite Patch V.2.4.2 introduces the Crossbow to Fortnite Battle Royale along with several Valentine’s Day-themed skins to celebrate the holiday.
The Crossbow is the newest ranged weapon to hit the battlefield in Fortnite Battle Royale, boasting unlimited arrows and a lovely gold aesthetic. Like other weapons, the Crossbow can be found within treasure chests or as floor loot and comes in both Rare and Epic rarities. A set of new Valentine’s Day skins will be available to Battle Royale players as well, which you can view below.
Fortnite Patch V.2.4.2 also includes a special event for PvE. Save The World players will get to enjoy a unique Valentine’s questline, along with Valentine’s Day-themed Heroes and new Event Store items. The full list of patch notes for Patch V.2.4.2 are listed below.
Battle Royale
General
• The Shooting Test #1 Limited-Time Mode has been switched to Solo only.
o Known Issue: The Shooting Test does not save progression for stats or challenges.
o Shotgun headshot damage increased to 200% (was 150%).
o Scoped Assault Rifle is now 100% accurate when zoomed in.
o Scoped Assault Rifle no longer has damage fall-off.
Bug Fixes
• Players will no longer slide off rooftops.
• Fix for Item Shop panels disappearing after completing a V-buck purchase through the Store Tab.
• Fix for collision inconsistencies in certain basement corners.
• Fixed a hole in the terrain south of Retail Row.
Audio
• Removed harsh high-frequency sound from the Chomp Jr pickaxe.
Weapons
• Crossbow
o This weapon fires Arrows, which are an unlimited ammo type.
o Found from floor loot and treasure chests.
o This weapon comes in both Rare and Epic variants.
Save The World
General
• Known Issue: Chests have low-resolution graphics on the results screen
Bug Fixes
• Trophies will now properly be awarded to PS4 players

Fortnite Patch V.2.4.2 is scheduled to release tomorrow, February 8. Hopefully, the update will go off without a hitch, and you won’t have to worry about being stuck in queue in Fortnite.
