Fortnite and IT Crossover Possibly Leaked

by Nicholas Barth

Fortnite Battle Royale is no stranger to having crossovers with some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world. The latest crossover for the battle royale game saw the Borderlands franchise invade the world of Fortnite. However, it looks as though members of the community have discovered game files which suggest Fortnite will have a future crossover with the horror movie franchise of IT.

You would be hard-pressed to find someone who does not know about the horror icon of IT who terrifies children as the evil clown of Pennywise. The 2017 IT movie saw a great deal of success, which in turn led to the development of IT Chapter Two. The second entry in the horror film series is set to release on September 6th, 2019. With an imminent release approaching, it looks as though Epic Games could be teaming up with the movie to deliver some IT Chapter Two themed content to Fortnite.

Well known Fortnite dataminers HYPEX and FortTroy recently took to Twitter to reveal interesting game files they had discovered in the high-profile game. These game files consisted of sound files which sound like the laughs of Pennywise and a creepy balloon file. The creepy balloon can often be seen with Pennywise when he appears in the movies.

These leaked files and the impending release of IT Chapter Two have caused plenty of speculation in the Fortnite community that a crossover between the two franchises will be taking place shortly. This crossover would not be the first time the battle royale game has partnered with a movie franchise to help boost interest in an upcoming release. Fortnite had a crossover previously with the John Wick franchise to help promote interest in the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
