Forspoken Delayed to October 11, 2022

This morning, Luminous Productions put out a statement announcing the delay of Forspoken. Originally titled Project Athia when it was first announced during the PlayStation 5 reveal event. Forspoken was set to release this May, but the team is now delaying the game to October 11, 2022.

If you’re having trouble remembering Forspoken, it stars the main protagonist Frey who is teleported from a modern-day New York City to a high-fantasy magical world. It also has a talking bracelet.

“We have made the decision to move the release date of Forspoken to October 11, 2022. Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us. To that end, during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall.”

The original release date of Forspoken was announced back at The Game Awards, which had a trailer with the date May 24, 2022. A roughly six-month delay should give the team ample time to iron out anything it wants before the official release.

Forspoken is releasing on PlayStation 5 and PC.
