As you might expect from the title of this article, the game is doing very well indeed. According to Yoshida, Final Fantasy XIV has become the most profitable game in the Final Fantasy series.

Not only that, but the player count recently surpassed 24 million players.

Final Fantasy XIV Is Now The Most Profitable Game In The Series

For those who’ve been wondering where Final Fantasy XIV stands in terms of profit and success, director Naoki Yoshida recently confirmed the game to be the most profitable in the series.

The news was shared during a digital preview event for Final Fantasy XIV, which we recently covered here at Prima Games (you can read through our full Endwalker preview here).

In addition to Final Fantasy XIV being the most profitable game in the series, it also recently topped a player count of 24 million.

Speaking on the matter, Naoki Yoshida said:

“You all know just how hard things were for us with the original Final Fantasy XIV. Since then, we were able to transform the title into one that provides a major contribution to our company’s profits.”

He then went on to note that no expense will be spared when it comes to investing in Final Fantasy XIV moving forward:

“It’s perhaps unbecoming of me to say but in terms of our business, we’ve been able to achieve great success. Moving forward, we’re going to spare no expense with our investments to ensure that this game continues to be one which our players can enjoy.”

Overall, it’s exciting for Final Fantasy XIV players to know that the game, which had a rocky start at launch, has become so incredibly popular to the point where it’s now the most profitable entry in the series.

The series can only grow from here as well, with the team dedicated to supporting the game and “sparing no expense” in terms of investments. Furthermore, Final Fantasy XIV players can look forward to the release of the Endwalker expansion one month from now, with Endwalker releasing on November 23.

Again, we have a preview for Endwalker live on the site that we recommend checking out if you’re curious about the expansion. While we wait for the release of Endwalker, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on the success of Final Fantasy XIV.

Are you surprised to hear it’s the most profitable game in the series, and that the player count recently passed a total of 24 million players? Let us know in the comments below, or on our social media channels including Facebook and Twitter
