Square Enix will make 2014 a pivotal year for its Final Fantasy franchise. Along with the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII this February, the company has announced that it will launch a beta for Final Fantasy XIV on PlayStation 4 in the same month.
The publisher will hold a special broadcast event this Saturday, showing the game in action on the next-gen platform for the first time. In it, producer and director Naoki Yoshida will show the game’s progress, as well as what players can expect from the new 2.1 patch coming to the PC version. You can view that broadcast here.
Following the beta in February, Final Fantasy XIV will make its full release in April.
