Square Enix has been on a roll with HD re-releases. Hot on the heels of its Kingdom Hearts HD package that will release in September, it’s working on spiffy new versions of both Final Fantasy X and its all-female spin-off Final Fantasy X-2. Today, the publisher provided yet another incentive that fans won’t want to miss out on.
A limited edition of these Final Fantasy games has been announced, which will be introduced in U.S., Europe and PAL territories later this year. The big highlight is a 24-page art book, which contains original concept designs for the game, in addition to quotes and commentary from the original development team. You’ll also get commentary from producer Yoshinori Kitase.
If you still need a reason to invest in the new collection, a new video has also been released showing the vast differences between the old standard definition version of the game and the upcoming HD transfer.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD will release on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita later this year. Be sure to check back for a strategic preview soon.
