Back in the late 90s, Square Enix turned a corner with its Final Fantasy franchise when the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII arrived on PlayStation.  It remains a heralded classic today, to the point that fans are yearning for an HD version somewhere down the road.  While we're not sure when we'll receive it, we do have the next best thing – Steam.

Square Enix released the role-playing adventure for the download game service, complete with partial controller support and 36 Steam achievements to add to your collection. You will need 3 GB of hard drive space to download it.

Final Fantasy VII costs $11.99 and is available for download now.
