Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster Drops on September 8

It's time to revisit the world of Final Fantasy IV for the... wait how many times? Jeez

In July, Square Enix released its first wave of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games. Of course, this wave included the first three games, and buying them early netted you a slight discount or some extra goodies. If you got them on Steam, anyway. Now, the next game in the series, Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster, has its own release date: September 8, 2021.

If you’ve been following the Pixel Remaster series, you’ll immediately notice the difference here. Three games were released all at once, and now it’s just one of the remaining three. That seems weird, right? Presumably it’s a matter of scale. These games are only getting bigger and longer, so dropping one of the back half at a time might be there for some breathing room. Especially since these are piecemeal on mobile platforms.

Beyond that, these games are packed with new visuals, new musical arrangements, and new features such as auto-battle.
