Electronic Arts announced that it signed an exclusive three-year contract with FC Barcelona, one of the most successful and popular soccer clubs in the world. This makes the team an official video game partner, one that will be prominently featured in the upcoming FIFA 14, as well as other games to come.
Barcelona stars, including Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas and Andres Iniesta, will be scanned for use in the game, and the team’s home stadium, Camp Nou, will also appear.
EA Sports will also be in attendance at a few Barcelona home games, setting up shop at the EA Sports Dugout, where players can check out FIFA 14 and other titles in action.
“Joining a world-class soccer club like Barcelona as an official club partner is a fantastic opportunity for EA Sports and our fans,” said Matt Bilbey, senior vice president and group general manager for EA Sports.
FIFA 14 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC starting September 24th, and later this year for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
