This is fantastic news for the company, whose last release to do so well this quickly was Oblivion, which shipped 1.7 million in roughly the same period of time.

The release-week sales were 57% higher than those of Oblivion, mainly consisting of the Xbox 360 version, which made up 55% of the total. The PS3 version made up 28% of all sales, and the PC 17%.
