Call of Duty isn’t the only franchise that’s giving back to the military community, as Electronic Arts has stepped up with a new initiative to both help fallen soldiers and raise awareness for the families that were left behind, while also supporting them.

It’s called Project Honor, and with it, the company has teamed with manufacturers who work with the Special Operations Community to help support the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.  These manufacturers will also supply digital goods you can use in the upcoming Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which will release in October.

In addition to helping out for a good cause, EA will also be making a special Military Edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which will be available exclusively to active, reserve and former U.S. Military.  It will include the limited edition of the game, in-game unlocks and a special Project Honor camouflage pattern.

“This partnership with EA and Medal of Honor will raise awareness on the work we do to help the families of fallen Special Operations warriors and facilitate contributions that help provide college scholarships for surviving children and financial assistance to families of severely wounded special operations warriors,” said John T. Carney, Jr., Special Operations Warrior Foundation President. “This is a great way to give back to some of our country’s greatest warriors.”
