Dragon’s Crown Still In the Works, Coming To PS Vita and PlayStation 3 Soon

Fans of Golden Axe and other beat-em-ups, you might want to take notice.

Last night’s PS Vita online presentation wasn’t quite eventful, as we saw a whole bunch of Monster Hunter clones, including Valhalla Knights 3, but barely anything that stood out in terms of originality.  But then a new trailer for Vanillaware’s Dragon’s Crown was shown, and all was right with the world.

The forthcoming RPG brawler, which bears a resemblance to a high-definition version of Golden Axe, features side-scrolling action, where players can use attacks and spells to take down enemies, either alone or working with members of a group.  The graphics definitely appear to be on the “fantastic” level, with beautiful animations and backdrops that really pop on the PS Vita screen.

Atlus is currently holding the U.S. rights for the game, so it looks like it’s still coming sometime this year as planned – though nothing has been set in stone as of yet.  Look for an announcement sometime around E3, though.

If you want to get a better idea of how Dragon’s Crown looks, we’ve included a trailer below for your viewing pleasure.  There’s a whole bunch of fighting, but, relax, it’s the good kind.

We’ll have a preview soon!
